Volos
Volos is a fairly large city and a major port which is located on the Pagasetic Gulf. It is the capital of the area known as Magnesia, which includes the Pelion peninsula

Besides a major industrial port Volos is also a starting point for some island hoppers that want to visit the the Sporades islands (Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos), or for people that want to combine the Pelion Peninsula with these islands.

Volos is one of the most beautiful cities in Greece. The wealth of the region and its long history have left their mark on the city’s architecture, which exudes confidence and grandeur. The numerous mansions, municipal halls, museumσ, early 20th-century industrial facilities, and splendid churches make touring Volos truly enjoyable.

SKIATHOS
Skiathos Town is the only settlement on the island. The city of Skiathos is the only built-up area of the island. It is built on the southeastern tip of the island in a windless bay which separates the island of Bourtzi in two.

Skopelos Island

There is a variety of beaches and coves with crystal clear waters. Sandy or shingle, secluded or much frequented, for nudists or not, with waterside traditional taverns or canteens, for snorkeling, underwater fishing or just swimming, with sun beds, umbrellas and sea sports, or just the sun and you. Some are easily reached by buses and taxis, others by private vehicles (cars and mopeds), and these -inaccessible to cars- are reached by boats, caiques or on foot.

Alonnisos
After Skiathos and Skopelos it is the third member of the Northern Sporades. Alonnisos is also the name of a village on the island, as well as the municipality that encompasses the island and the village.

The village of Alonnisos is located on the southern part of the island. It is locally known as Chora and signposted as The Old Village. The main port of the island is located in the southeast and is called Patitiri.
